ANNUAL RETURN & AUDIT REPORT – LAST DATES & THRESHOLD LIMIT

Every GST registered dealer is required to submit annual return and also audit report on GST portal. Initially annual return was made mandatory for all the registered dealers but later on due to technical reasons some dealers whose aggregate turnover was below a certain limit were exempted from filing the annual return. The threshold limit of Rs. 2 crore was fixed for mandatory filing of annual return. For different years, the date of filing return was extended from time to time. We have compiled the last dates of filing of annual return and also the threshold limit for annual return and audit u/s 35(5) of the Act.

With effect from the financial year 2020-21 GST audit u/s 35(5) is not required. Dealer can file reconciliation statement in form GSTR-9C duly certified by him if the turnover exceeds Rs. 5 crore in a financial year.
